The Head of Planning at Portsmouth City Council has confirmed that QinetiQ will now have to go back before the Planning Committee.

QinetiQ have made a conditional promise to keep the beach open to the public

Portsmouth City Council's Cabinet are meeting again (Monday 7th July at 1:00pm) to discuss QinetiQ's latest legal action & threats of Judicial Review.  Once again the council officers are recommending that the Council hand the (public open) land over to QineitQ to allow them to widen the access road to the development site.  The report can be viewed on the Council's website

Another report going to the executive meeting on Jan 18th - the report can be read on Portsmouth City Council's website.  This report recommends deferring the decision over the SINC land at Fort Cumberland because QinetiQ hasn't given guarantees about public access to Eastney Beach that satisfy the City Solictor.
